Symbol of Valencian industrial heritage
Our History:
Industrial chimneys are one of the symbols of Valencia’s industrial past. Built between the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, they were part of the old factories that drove the city’s economic growth. Mainly constructed with brick, they were used to expel smoke from steam machines and today represent an important historical and architectural heritage. Although many factories disappeared, several chimneys are still preserved as a reminder of Valencia’s industrial and working-class history. Currently, these structures are considered heritage elements of great cultural and historical value, and some have been restored and integrated into parks, squares, and new urban spaces, keeping an essential part of Valencia’s history alive
Mission:
Recuperar y difundir la memoria industrial de Valencia mediante la digitalización 3D de sus chimeneas industriales, acercando su historia al público a través de una página web interactiva y códigos QR accesibles en cada ubicación. El proyecto busca preservar este patrimonio, fomentar el interés cultural y ofrecer nuevas oportunidades de divulgación y aplicación de tecnologías 3D en futuros proyectos.
Vision:
To become a reference in the conservation and dissemination of Valencian industrial heritage by using innovative digital tools to connect history, technology, and citizens. We aspire for industrial chimneys to once again become part of Valencia’s visual and cultural identity, while also promoting the use of 3D modeling as a resource for cultural, educational, and tourism projects.
